The American University of Paris (AUP) offers automatic IB Scholarships based on final IB diploma scores, plus consideration for additional need-based funding through AUP’s financial award program.
The IB Scholarship will be automatically awarded when we receive your official results, and does not require that you apply for need-based financial awards. You will receive an AUP IB Scholarship based on your official IB Diploma score as follows:
|FINAL IB SCORE||Scholarship|
|40 or higher||€20,000 per year (over 65% of full-time tuition)|
|36 to 39||€14,000 per year (over 45% of full-time tuition)|
|32 to 35||€7,000 per year|
An IB Scholarship is automatic; you do not need to complete a separate application. It is based on your final IB diploma score. Official IB results must be submitted to the Admissions Office by the beginning of the first day of classes of the student’s first semester at AUP. IB Scholarships cannot not be awarded retroactively or adjusted if a student fails to notify the Admissions Office of IB results in time or retakes part of the exam at a later date.
If you qualify for both an IB Scholarship and receive any other AUP institutional financial award, you will receive the larger award; a student may not combine the IB Diploma Scholarship with any other financial awards.
The IB scholarships are awarded to degree-seeking students who are registered full-time in the fall and spring semesters and the total annual scholarship is split evenly between the two semesters. To continue receiving the IB Scholarship at AUP each year, you must be registered full-time in the fall and spring semesters and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. Please note that the IB Scholarship is only reserved for degree-seeking students at AUP. Visiting students and students participating in our freshmen partnership programs are ineligible.
Please note that current AUP students who have already received an IB Scholarship prior to Fall 2019 will not have their awards adjusted to the new scale.
IB students also may earn advanced standing university credit at AUP – making your cation even more affordable. IB Diploma candidates receive 32 semester credits for a final IB score of 30 or above. This translates to a full academic year of university academic credit that can be applied toward the 128 credits required for graduation at AUP. With advanced standing credit, you have more flexibility in your course selection at AUP, and you may be able to graduate in only three years, should this be your goal. For final scores between 24 and 29, you earn 8 semester credits for each HL score of 4 and above.
